Tour of the garden:

After refreshments, the Friends toured the garden while the volunteers returned to weeding and other chores. Trevor and Trudi accompanied David and other Friends on a visit to the proposed all-season border (near the walled garden) which will be planted with flowering shrubs and bulbs in the autumn. Many of the plants will have been purchased by Jill Betts’ family and friends in her memory. As the all-weather path passes close by, this will be a border that everyone can enjoy all year round.

Weeding:

There are still plenty of weeds of all sizes to be removed from the borders. If you would like a little gentle weeding while you listen to the birds, or something more challenging such as hacking away at nettles and brambles, we can find a patch for you. Hoping to see you next Thursday.
