Well, summer is over, and the Autumn term has begun at the University.

We have had six open days so far, each day raising an average of £700. An excellent achievement. There has been lots of praise for the garden, both for its looks and content. The Committee is determined that this will continue.

During last week (Fresher’s Week) the Garden hosted Kew’s @GrowWild’ scheme, where an area near the cherry circle was planted with wild flowers. Around 30 students turned up, plus the Vice Chancellor ( a regular visitor to the garden) to help sow the seed provided by the scheme (photograph attached). Everyone was then shown the bee hives, run by Biological Sciences, in the walled garden.
