Extremely useful as an urban tree tolerant of hot dry conditions.

Spectacular autumn colour but slow growing.

Nyssa sinensis is also a fine tree and has superior summer foliage. A small specimen is located east of Whiteknights House

An important timber tree in its native North America.

A good garden tree for autumn colour but eventually large

Fantastic foliage! Huge bi-pinnate deciduous laves up to 1m long.

Now flowering reliably.

Interesting bark.

One of the best specimens in the country.

Mongolian Lime

 

Supposedly a small (10m) tree but this 15 year old specimen is already rapidly approaching this.

A very attractive tree in flower and in autumn.

Henry’s Lime

 

This Chinese species is compact with good potential for garden use.

One of the best specimens in the country and one of the only mature specimens on campus which has not suffered storm damage.

Happily growing on this dry site

Excellent autumn colour especially covered in haw frost
